Enhanced Rider Scheme training

Enhanced Rider Scheme

The Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) was created by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) as extra training for full ‘A’ motorcycle licence holders and is delivered by motorcycle instructors who have qualified as post-test trainers.

Who it's aimed at

The scheme is suitable if you fit any of these:

  • want to be a better smoother safer rider
  • have just passed your test
  • are upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle
  • want to check your skills.

The cost for Derbyshire residents will be a maximum of £39.

The price is subsidised by the Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership and is based on two riders undertaking joint tuition, so you’ll both pay a maximum of £39 each for six hours of joint tuition with your chosen trainer.

If you prefer a more individual experience and would like to train alone, you can contact you chosen trainer and negotiate a price including the Derbyshire subsidy. This one to one experience may cost considerably more.

All discounts are subject to availability.
